Brian and Kelsey are one of those couples who can’t help but smile when they are in each other’s company, and it makes it a really sweet experience to scroll through their wedding photos. They were joined by all of their loved ones at one of our favorite locations, on what happened to be the last warm weekend before Minnesota turned into a winter tundra. 

Downtown Minneapolis has such a great combination of urban and natural sights, making it the perfect spot to wander around to shake off some pre-wedding jitters. The Depot is one of our favorite wedding venues, and we were so excited to be back here. Not only is it so close to picturesque downtown spots, it has great spaces for getting ready, a wedding ceremony, and a reception hall all under one roof.

Brian and Kelsey’s wedding day was a combination of all of our favorite things; a so-in-love couple, a favored location, and smiles to spare. We are so grateful to have been a part of their big day, and we are ecstatic to share these photos. Be sure to make it to the end of the post, that photo is our favorite!

Having worked in the wedding industry as long as I have, you meet a lot of people. Aaron is one of those people who sticks with you. Having worked alongside Brovado as a wedding DJ, we were beyond thrilled to photograph his wedding. Him and Jaime are the sweetest couple, these two are the type of easygoing and fun-loving couple that makes my job so easy. You know when you can look at a photo and tell that the subjects are truly happy and comfortable with one another? Jaime and Aaron are exactly that.

In addition to being the wedding of a cherished couple, it happened to be in one of my favorite spots, downtown Stillwater! Despite the rainy streak that Minnesota has been having this spring, we were able to get outdoors for all of their wedding photos and enjoy the riverside views.

We started the day off at Hotel Crosby before heading over to Lowell Inn for the ceremony and the rest of the evening’s festivities. Forgo-ing a first dance (I love when couples pick and choose what wedding traditions work for them!) Jaime and Aaron got right into celebrating with all of their loved ones.

Downtown Stillwater has such beauty to it. The old buildings, the lift bridge, the river, they’re all gorgeous. It’s no surprise that the spot attracts so many weddings, and I am ecstatic every time I am invited to cover a wedding in Stillwater.

Michelle and Alex’s riverboat wedding was vibrant while still feeling intimate. Something about being secluded on the water with a hundred of your closest friends makes it feel like you are the only people in the world.

Their whole day was family-focused, with their wedding party being made up of their children and siblings. Their ceremony was tightly packed into the sunny deck of the boat, with the wedding party closely gathered at the bow. Their relatively brief ceremony was sweet, full of laughter and embraces.

When the sun went down is when the celebrations really started. After a series of heartwarming speeches by the family of the newlyweds below deck, the top deck of the boat transformed into a bustling dance floor. One of the most fun moments of any wedding day is bobbing my way through the dance floor, catching everyone having a blast in each other’s company. The white claws were flowing and you could feel the love!

Kevin and Jeanette met while in the University of Minnesota marching band, as a trumpet player and color guard member, respectively. These two first bonded over their shared love of Harry Potter. Fast forward to Kevin proposing to Jeanette six years later in front of Hogwart’s Castle in Orlando, FL. This initial point of connection was visible on their wedding day, with Harry Potter references popping up in their wedding accessories, reception decor, and photobooth props.

For their wedding day, we got to return to the InterContinental Hotel of St. Paul, which we love for its showstopping ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows, access to pristine nearby parks, and views of the St. Paul skyline. The streets of St. Paul provide so many great photo spots, and we had the opportunity to explore the riverfront before their ceremony at Guardian Angels Church in Oakdale, MN.

Jeanette and Kevin’s wedding day felt so in line with the interests and values of them, their friends, and their families. It’s always special to witness a wedding where everyone there is so in sync. And we love a wedding where everyone ends up on the dance floor at the end of the night! Thanks so much for a blast of a wedding day.

Shikha and Aman’s two-day wedding was such a joyful couple of days full of dancing, laughter, and love. 

Their first evening was spent at the Minneapolis Marriott West, and despite it drizzling outside, it was bright inside. The evening’s cheery and colorful program, full of performances by family and friends, was the perfect lead into day two of celebrations.

The second day took place at The Hutton House near Medicine Lake, a gorgeous spot with ample sunlight, expansive spaces for getting ready, and a tree-lined courtyard. Being able to spend the whole day in one place meant that we were able to take advantage of many spots throughout the property without feeling rushed. Their attire for both portions of the day was photogenic and popped alongside the greenery that surrounded the property.

While the weather in the morning was grey and dreary, the sun came out right as Shikha and Aman had their first look, which felt kismet. Their whole day was stunning, but their ceremony was a highlight. The ceremony space was so sunny, it’s hard to believe it was indoors!
