I had the unique opportunity to play paparazzi this week when I was commissioned by Paparazzi Proposals to photograph Eric as he popped the question to Allison on a dock in Wayzata, MN. After a nice dinner at Gianni’s Steakhouse, the couple went for a stroll around Lake Minnetonka, where, after some canoodling, Eric suddenly dropped to one knee and asked Allison to marry him. Paparazzi Proposals is a photography and proposal planning service marketed to men like Eric who want to capture this special moment, and the priceless look on their love’s face, without spoiling the surprise. I had a lot of fun sneaking around to get these shots, and Eric and Allison could not have been happier!

Look who just turned one! Our dear friends Kelsy and Brandon’s beautiful baby girl, Akashi, had a blast with her family out on the lawn at Kihei Surfside while posing for her first birthday portraits. I am so glad to know this family! Brandon is an accomplished helicopter pilot (who also happens to be my personal instructor), and Kelsy is one of the sweetest moms I know, and it is reflected in Akashi’s calm temperament. I had so much fun taking your Maui family portraits, guys! (Now let’s go fly some helicopters!)

After several wonderful years of marriage, Carol and Russ planned a getaway to one of the most romantic places in the world – the island of Maui – for a private vow renewal ceremony on the beach. Accompanied by four of their closest friends, the happy couple said some sweet words, kissed, and enjoyed a glass of champagne to celebrate. One of my most loyal clients ever wanted to get her 5th wedding anniversary documented with a wedding anniversary photo shoot in Minneapolis…. My little sister! Jennae and Tyler have been together ever since high school. I remember when they started dating… she would bring him home and swear up and down that they weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend. But we all knew that if they weren’t yet, they would be. A few years later, their wedding was one of the first weddings I ever photographed. 🙂
For their wedding anniversary photos, we went to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden for some classy MN photographs. Jennae and Tyler are always fun to work with, and I’m not just saying that because I’m biased… ok, maybe I am. But you can tell from the photos that these two were made for each other, and that they love to have fun in front of a camera!
