One of the highest compliments you can get from the mother of the bride is when she books you for her own Hawaiian destination wedding! I flew over from Maui to the Kona side of the big island to work with Penny and Alan. It was a wonderful reunion with previously clients Lauren and Jason, and the rest of their family!

We had a great time laughing with their family in the condo that they had rented before the two wed below a chuppah on the beach. These two had the most beautiful orange and pink wedding flowers, giving a tropical flair to their otherwise classic wedding attire.

I jokingly said that one of the other sisters should get married so we wouldn’t have to go so long before weddings. Little did we know that we would be at Allie and Brian’s wedding just the next year! 

Kari and Tyler’s Idaho mountain wedding was absolutely beautiful.  The couple planned to have their wedding ceremony on a small open plain with a striking mountain view.  On the morning of the wedding, it was pouring.  Since the sudden rain hadn’t been in the forecast, Kari and Tyler hadn’t planned for it.  They asked me what I thought they should do.  I told them to call Kari’s mother, who was still shopping for last-minute items in Boise, and to instruct her to buy every single umbrella she could find at the local Target.  She did, and Kari and Tyler gave the umbrellas to their guests as wedding favors.  The ceremony took place outside on the plain as planned, and each of the guests had his own umbrella, making for a fun and unique wedding ceremony and fantastic wedding photos! This year I flew back out to Maui in October to photograph Adrienne and Josh’s wedding, which was absolutely stunning.  This happy young bride and groom were so much fun to be around, and they just couldn’t stop smiling!  They were incredibly excited to be getting married.  And what a perfect day.  Actually, every day on Maui is perfect…..  There is something about this island that brings out the vibrance in everything.  Wedding photographs turn out richly colorful and alive.  I love the island of Maui and I love photographing weddings here.  This truly is paradise.

These wedding pictures were taken just north of Lahaina on Maui, Hawaii.  Jennifer and Jin rented a beautiful vacation home right on the Bay Golf Course overlooking the ocean.  Family and friends flew in from Washington for this fantastic and intimate wedding.  I have discovered that the most difficult part of my job now is narrowing down the photos to put on this blog!!!  The wedding took place outdoors, of course, on a beautiful island where the weather is always perfect.  After the ceremony, the families partied it up with live music and fondue!  I had a lot of fun at this wedding, and I wish Jin and Jennifer the best in their journey together.  Enjoy these Hawaii wedding photos!
